Building Bridges Camp & Training Institute

Building Bridges Camp is designed to give individuals who use AAC/AT an opportunity to develop their communication skills in a fun, motivating, no-pressure environment. Divided into four groups according to age, campers participate in activities designed to support the development of their AAC and AT skills. Building Bridges Camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop increased independence and abilities.

The camp program is designed to pair adults attending the Training Institute with a camper throughout the week. The Institute is a training program for teachers, speech pathologists, classroom assistants, and others who work with children using AAC/AT in a home or school environment.

The training program focuses on: augmentative communication, assistive technology, and instructional strategies. There is time to work, learn, teach and play in an environment designed to maximize communication. The week-long Training Institute is unique in that it provides: intensive instruction, hands-on experience, instruction on technology applications, small group interaction, applied training activities, and professional networking access to experts in the fields of AAC, ATand Special Education.

Currently, the summer camp is not sponsored and we are looking for the appropriate partner to help us. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact us and indicate your interest.
