Identifying and preparing substitutes for paraprofessionals is not an easy task. The logistics can be quite challenging. Creating a substitute binder is one way to organize the most pertinent information for supporting a student using AAC. Our binders generally include daily schedules, key protocols, vital information about daily routines and strategies, communication information, photos, and service provider names and contact information. The idea is to provide a resource that is easy to use and that can provide useful information for staff whether they are familiar with the student and the site or just there for one day.
