The 2012 AAC by the Bay conference will focus on issues and strategies related to education and communication of users of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This year's conference themes will be early intervention, mobility, writing instruction, global dissemination, and self-determination.
Plenary and concurrent sessions feature internationally and nationally known leaders in AAC including: Aileen Arai, Sarah Baroody, Sarah Blackstone, Marcela Manzur Camacho, Caitlin Daly, Tiké DeMarco, Holly Hamilton, Mary Hunt-Berg, Jill King, Elisa Kingsbury, Judith Lunger-Bergh, Joy McCollum-Franco, Caroline Musselwhite, Maricor Pagsanjan, Gabriela Berlanga Ramírez, Kristin Rytter, Alina Smyczek, Janet Sturm, Chris Toomey, Christine Wright-Ott, and Janelle Ziobro.

The 2012 AAC by the Bay conference will be honoring Dr. June L. Bigge for her contributions to special education and in recognition of the tremendous impact she has had on individuals with physical impairments, their educators, families and therapists.
