Jim Forderer Remembered
It is with deep sadness that we note the passing of The Bridge School co-founder and long time member of the Board of Directors, Jim Forderer. Jim was one of those special people who lived a life caring for others, adopting over 35 children with disabilities over the years. His son, Alan, was one of The Bridge School's founding students and demonstrated what was then the current cutting edge technology at our first Annual Bridge School Benefit Concert in 1986, using a head pointer and a pre-stored message.
Jim never missed a board meeting and was the voice ever reminding us to keep in the forefront of our minds that our work was not only to enable our students to access their education while children and teenagers but, as is the goal with any educational program, to prepare them for the adult life that lay ahead.
After suffering a series of strokes in the past several months, Jim left this world peacefully, at home, surrounded by his beloved family.
Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and close to your hearts.
