Helen K. Morton (September 16, 1921 – January 16, 2013)
The Bridge School family is saddened at the loss of one of our generous sponsors. Helen K. Morton served on the first Board of Trustees for The Bridge School and continued her involvement throughout the 26 years of our operation. Mrs. Morton was particularly interested in our Transition Program that provides support to students who graduate from The Bridge School and return to their home school district placements. She helped to provide scholarships for dozens of Bridge School graduates over many years. This support has assisted The Bridge School in their efforts to ensure that our students can actively participate in their school and home community.
Mrs. Morton was step-mother to Pegi Young, founder and President of the Board of Directors of The Bridge School and grandmother to founding student, Ben Young.
Mrs. Morton served as the first woman President of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans in 1980 and was a successful business woman with her own company, Welfare Plans, Inc in Milwaukee and subsequently with McMorgan & Company, based in San Francisco.
As we remember Mrs. Morton, we celebrate her commitment and dedication to our organization, our children and their families.
