Supporting The Bridge School

The Bridge School is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals who need support in developing a voice of their own. Your charitable donation makes a significant difference in the level of support we are able to provide to children and their families locally, nationally and globally.

Become a part of The Bridge School family by supporting one or more of our efforts:

Bridge Builder Endowment Fund

To ensure a smooth transition and the ongoing vitality and continuity of Bridge School and its work, the Board of Directors established the Bridge Builder Endowment Fund. Funding the endowment will mean that the unique approach and programs of The Bridge School will benefit generations of children, those who attend the school and those who benefit from the broadest dissemination of the creative educational strategies developed by our staff. Your support will ensure The Bridge School a future.

The Bridge School General Fund

Sustaining the current programs and services of The Bridge School requires a public-private partnership. While monies from public programs, agencies and grant-giving organizations provide partial funding for some of our programs, we continue to rely on the generous donations of private individuals and organizations to complete the work that we do.

Community Based Experiences (Field Trips)

The cost of transport for our students to participate in off site activities is a significant budget item for our education program. We require specially equipped buses to transport our children and their wheelchairs. These experiences are critical to the education and social experiences of our students. We schedule eight to ten field trips per year. Your support will contribute to the success of these experiences.

Teacher in Residence Program

The International Teacher In Residence grant is a philanthropic award presented bi-annually to an individual by The Bridge School. This grant is awarded to promote skill development in using augmentative/ alternative forms of communication and assistive technologies in countries where little information or training currently exists. This is a two-year program with the first year as an on-site residency within The Bridge School and the second year providing training and support within the residents’ home country. Your contribution will support our global outreach efforts toward impacting the education of children internationally.

The Bridge School Web Site

Our Web site is currently undergoing a major renovation that will more clearly articulate who we are, what we do and how others can benefit from what we have learned. This interactive, dynamic site will have the capacity to deliver information, disseminate resources and provide support for training world-wide. The innovative approach we want to undertake requires extensive programming and content development. This is an ongoing project that should span several years of production. With your help, our dream of communication for all will become a reality.
